In the beginning of August we stayed at Lizard Creek Campground in Lehighton, PA for a long weekend. After getting set up in our spot we met up with our friends also staying at the campground.
That evening we went to Insurrection Distillery for a few adult beverages.
The next day we went kayaking on Beltzville Lake in Towamensing, PA.
Then it was on to lunch at a brewery. We went to a place called Copperz Brewing. Solid beers. Sorry, was enjoying myself too much. No pictures.
One last stop on the way home a well decorated theme park of a brewery, 1787 Brewing. The place was beautiful and the beers were fair. The air conditioning… Well, lets just say, next time go cheaper on the bathroom sinks and a bit more posh on the HVAC.
The last day of our adventure was also our biggest day, we started at Yuengling Brewing. The caves were awesome.
Then out was up, out of the caves and into the brewery.
Can’t skip the Rathskellar.
Then the proverbial, exit through the gift shop.
After the tour we headed down the hill and stopped at a great little coffee shop/book store. I forget what it was called, but it was quite nice.
Next we ventured down the road to Black Rock Brewing. They had several very solid beers and on the novelty side, they had a fill from the bottom tap system.
Next it was down the road to Pilger Ruh Brewing. I was totally unimpressed with their beers. They weren’t bad, they just weren’t very good. YMMV.
Overall thoughts about the trip? Having shore power was AWESOME! Having a water hookup was nice. The sewer hookup was nothing special. It was just an end of trip dump station that we didn’t have to drive to.
The breweries/distillery were fun, but… duh. 😀 The Yuengling tour was actually pretty cool (that coming from me is high praise) and kayaking was a blast.
All in all a great trip.
